Police has launched former bureaucrat, Abdul Qayyum, who was arrested after a lifeless cat was discovered hanging in his home positioned in Bahira City, Dawn News has reported.
A police officer whereas speaking to Daybreak mentioned that “throughout preliminary investigation, the person denied this allegation and instructed police that two cats had been combating inside his home and there was a loop of rope across the neck of 1 animal”.
“In the course of the struggle, the cat with the rope round its neck fell from the steps, which led to it dying by hanging because the rope acquired caught in a pipe,” added the accused.
Nonetheless, the police suspects that the assertion given by the accused is fake, including: “Cats will not be often discovered with ropes round their neck.”
A case was registered in opposition to the person beneath part 429 of the Pakistan Penal Code (PPC). The criticism was lodged by Anila Umair, who’s an animal welfare activist.
